Rock, paper, scissors could solve the world’s problems

In our home, we also use bartering as a way to resolve conflict/problem solve. Like when we clean, for example. Sometimes, if I’m feeling too lazy to pick up my end of the household chores, I’ll trade them with The Boss. Like, If you clean up the living room and vacuum today, I’ll clean the kitchen AND bathroom next week. But the problem is, when next week comes, he’s all all relaxed on the couch, and I’m in the kitchen scrubbing dishes, or gagging while I try and clean the toilet. Farsightedness was never really a strength of mine.
For the most part, The Boss and I just talk things out if we have a misunderstanding, and we remind each other of the virtue of forgiveness. Of course there are times when just talking things out doesn’t work. In those situations, we get our wrestling costumes out of storage, and then battle it out. The winner is (of course) the last man standing, or he whose bleeding stops first.
I’m only kidding.
Our wrestling costumes are totally not in storage.

What I love about you is that you’re so realistic, of course there are going to be days when you sleep angry, or the conflict cannot be resolved since both parties are set on their opinions: sleep really is a great way to just forget the matter& move on. Works with my siblings, argue the whole day, sleep& the next morning we’ve forgotten what we were angry about.
Great post!
Ohh& you’re sitting so close to the camera! Move back!
I just had a loooong boring “discussion” with Wizard regarding something that he thought I wasn’t grasping the concept of, and I insisted that I did but thought it was cheating.
Ok, I tried to say it in a lot of different ways but the only way I could make him stop and consider the impracticality of what he was suggesting was to suddenly throw the word “CHEATER” at him =D
Long story short, we try to one by one put out our side of the story, leave the room…take a walk alone and try to see the other person’s point of view.
Usually we come to a compromise. For this particular…oh hell it was a long drawn argument… we decided that next time we’ll give his idea a try.
