Gotta Love a Wide Leg. And I’m Not Talking About Cankles.

I love a good pair of wide-leg jeans. The style transcends decades, they look good on every body type, you can find them at any price range, and as I always say, the wider the better.
Isn’t that true?

Like wider roads are better because there’s less congestion, wider computer monitors and televisions are what people save their money to buy, and a “wide selection” of anything is always good because you have more to choose from — unless of course that “wide selection” is at the vending machine, or in a bakery because then I really don’t know what to choose, and it’s kind of unfair to have so many options of sugar to choose from because you’re all, Oh crap. Peanut M&Ms or Twix? Black and White Cookie or Cinnamon Scone? and you could end up standing at the vending machine, or holding up the line in the bakery for like 10 minutes, and you’re on your lunch break, and so is everyone else behind you, so you just end up getting both (or all four) and then you go to the dentist for your routine cleaning and find out you have a cavity, and that’s not the worst part because believe it or not, it can actually get worse when you find out that your insurance will no longer cover the Nitrous Oxide that you MUST HAVE because you can’t function without it and now you have to shell out a WHOPPING EIGHTY SCHNITZELS (not the sausage, actual money) just to get your high…uh…I mean to undergo a medically authorized treatment in a controlled environment.

Obama, we gotta make moves on health care, Dude!
This is for our country’s prosperity!
(And for the safety of my dentist’s finger — I can’t make any promises about how I will behave if I don’t get The Gas.)
So, back to the jeans.
I always say that my mom has been my number one style inspiration ever since I was a kid. And it’s amazing to see pictures of my mom in her younger day, and realize that by pure coincidence, I have the same eclectic style today that she had back in the ’70s.
The apple doesn’t fall far is all I have to say about that one.
Wide-Leg Jumpsuit, $298 at BCBG.com.
My first exposure to wide leg jeans was looking at my mom’s old pictures when I was younger. She and all her friends rocked that flare like nobody could — and it was glamorous. I remember looking at those pictures, and wondering how that style wasn’t around anymore, and before I could say anything my mom goes, “This style will definitely come back someday. Style always recycles itself.”
And she was so right.
Rock on, Woman Who Carried Me In Your Womb.

Wide leg jeans can be worn so many ways, I highly suggest you make them a staple of your wardrobe, just like I have. My favorite way is to rock a wide leg (pants, jeans, or even a jumpsuit) is paired with a long shirt (that covers my bum) a blazer or long cardigan over top, and a tough boot, or ultra feminine heel.
Easy Jean, $49.50 at VictoriasSecret.com.
Of Note: Wide leg jeans are often made long. Don’t hesitate to take them to the in-store tailor (if you bought them at the department store) or swing by your local cleaners to have them hemmed.

I own those Vicky Secret pants and to claim an amazing fit is an understatement. Not only are they great for the price but, true to size measurements, and great for a taller girl with an ‘hour glass’ figure like I have. Also, great for girl wanting to be less revealing in their clothing.
woww..those are niceeee pants!! now only if i had those legs
…sigh
I LOVE THESE! as a thick thigh lady myself, these are great for hiding what you want (!) and for maintaining a certain level of modesty. it’s win-win. i feel like a model with these on and a pair of heels.
if i could only walk better in heels…
(p.s. and i totally love your tangent in the middle of this..hilarious.)
Wish I could pull off those gorgeous pants!
