Happy Birthday, Slice of Lemon!

Today marks the first birday of SliceofLemon.com, or as someone once said, “What’s your Website? Decisive Woman dot com?”

Yes.
It’s exactly that.

It was one year ago today that I published my first post. It was exactly 13 days after I left my job, and with my friends and family backing my decision to build a place for my voice on the Web, I plunged head first into the blogosphere.

And I haven’t looked back since.

Through an open forum like the Internet, not only have you gotten a tiny glimpse into my life, but I’ve also gotten one into yours. I’ve gotten to know lots of you through your e-mails, comments, and tweets, and I want to say that it’s been an absolute pleasure learning about your families, your passions, and your future goals. It means so much to me that you would take time out of your day to send a note, or share a personal story with little old me.

If this were an acceptance speech, I’d thank my mom, dad, sister, and love of my life, The Boss, for all their love, prayers and support. I’d also thank my plastic surgeon because when I was little, my mom, sister and I would make up random acceptance speeches, thank our plastic surgeon at the end, and then double over with hysterical laughter.

It was kind of one of those things you had to be there for.
