After hijab, reflecting on dress and interaction

Just a quick note that there’s going to be a little moving, shaking and consolidating in this space in the coming weeks, which includes Ask Sabrina being moved to the landing page — that’s where you are now. The column will still be published bi-weekly on Wednesdays, but instead of accessing it through the “Ask [...]

Just a sec

I ran into some technical issues with the site late yesterday that somehow managed to follow me into this evening. If you’re getting any errors on your end, please bear with me while I try to understand and make the necessary fix(es). I’ll try to get things back to normal before the weekend.

RSS feeds down

A quick note to let you guys know that RSS feeds will likely be down through the end of this week, and into early next week. If you follow Slice in a reader, I suggest you come to the site for updates for the time being. The (on-going) redesign for 2010 is, well, on-going, and [...]

Notes on changes

At the beginning of this year, I mentioned that Slice will be going through a number of changes through the end of the year, so please join me on a  quick walk-through as I show you around. First, you’ll notice that the Style section (which will return in some capacity) has been replaced by an [...]

“Man in the early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is regressive back to ancient times” - Nobel laureate, Tawakul Karman, in response to journalists who said her hijab was not proportionate with her level of intellect and education.
