My sister-in-law’s Little Lamb has arrived!

You guys! The Boss’s sister had a baby girl on Friday morning! The Little Lamb has spiky hair, skinny little legs and sticks her tongue out all the time; she’s pretty much awesome! The Boss and I were making the two hour drive up to his parents’ Friday evening after we got the news, but decided to go straight to the hospital first since it was getting late and we knew that the new mom, dad and baby needed rest.

My sister-in-law was in good spirits when we saw her. She was tired naturally, but she was up to chat and The Boss and I got to see, snuggle with and hold Little Lamb. While I know my in-laws are super happy about their first grandbaby it was really special to see The Boss and his little brother interact with their big sister’s baby. I could see it in their eyes as they took turns holding Little Lamb and gazing at her every little feature that childhood memories with their sister were washing happiness and nostalgia over both of them.

This week I’m headed home to Northern Virginia to spend some time with my family and see Tater who looks like she’s grown a little in every picture my sister texts me — mostly because THOSE CHEEKS are barely fitting onto the giant screen of my cell phone anymore!

Uzma’s medical exams are the first week of March so I’ll be on Tater duties those days. While Uzma spends 16 hours of her life focused on answering multiple choice questions, I’ll spend my time being focused on eating Tater’s cheeks. And I feel confident that I’ll be quite successful in my endeavors.

CHOMP!

  1. @Henna Thanks! Yeah it has been an amazing blessing to double up as aunt and uncle! And you’re right, they change and grow so fast it’s hard to keep up!

  2. Congratulations! It’s so great that you and The Boss have been able to experience becoming an aunt/uncle around the same time! I would suggest milking every minute for what it’s worth, they grow sooo fast!
