When creating your dinner party outfit, you have one simple goal: pick something that’s both fun and appropriate.
See, that doesn’t sound so scary! If you’re still feeling unsure, here are 3 easy steps that I promise will help keep you on the right track to find the best outfit for you!
1. Choose a bold print; or solid color in a unique color or fancy fabric
Fine print: If you opt for a festive pattern, pick one piece and build from there.
2. Dress for comfort
Fine print: Dressing for comfort doesn’t mean you shouldn’t iron! You want to be fun and fashionable while making sure you have room for seconds and can easily mingle with guests and help the host and hostess when it’s time to clean up!
3. Consider the host and/or venue
Fine print: You don’t have to sacrifice your personal style for others, but I think we can all agree that there are certain venues where your yoga pants or backless dress might not be best suited. If you’re unsure about the dress code ask someone who would know. Also it’s always a good idea to try your clothes on before the party. That way you can do a once over in the mirror from all angles and possibly tweak your outfit if you need to.
