Although The Boss has taken a lead role in many of the stylistic aspects in our home since we got married, I’m catering this one to the girls. This means: Men, YOU BUY THIS STUFF FOR THE GIRLS. Got it? I felt the need to clarify that lest there be some earth-shattering mishap where Uzma shows up with a GIANT PINK BIRD PILLOW for BIL. Of course, that’s not to say that the women out there can’t get this stuff for themselves, or for those they love. God forbid I forget to acknowledge that women MAKE THEIR OWN MONEY TOO! and get an inbox full of hate mail.

I tried to keep a lot of this stuff gender neutral since a home is generally shared, but if you’re living the high life in your own place, or are looking for a little college dorm room decor, I think there’s something on here for everyone. Putting this list together has been the most inspirational so far as it’s so easy to get lost in the endless thought and creativity that has so apparently been poured into these designs. Everything I picked for this list came from Web sites that you could literally spend hours on, so you may even want to do a little browsing before you commit to just one thing. Or six.

“Man in the early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is regressive back to ancient times” - Nobel laureate, Tawakul Karman, in response to journalists who said her hijab was not proportionate with her level of intellect and education.
