Behind the scenes at Ree’s ranch

Last Monday I made pizzas with Ree, The Pioneer Woman, at her ranch in Oklahoma!

I was there with Lisa from BlogHer and Rhoda from Southern Hospitality for a five-part Web series about little life hacks like, what to get your spouse for an anniversary, how to help in your community and decorating your home. We got to Pawhuska mid-afternoon, got dinner going and then ate and talked and laughed until well after dark.

Tomato basil pizza recipe here.

Caramelized onion pizza recipe here.

The lodge was really beautiful and the view from my room was even better.

In the morning we got ready with Elizabeth and Donna who did hair and make up and started filming with the guys from Ozark Film & Video Productions.

That’s Lisa going over last-minute logistics.

And that’s me honking about how my pants got wrinkled even after I ironed them.

This was a business trip, but it felt a lot like a girls getaway. It was really nice to chat with women who shared their life experiences and didn’t mind my unironed pants. The video we shot was simple tips on how to decorate your bedroom and bathroom and I’ll post it soon!

What a great experience! I love reading Ree’s blog, as well as yours. I had always wondered what it would be like for Ree to have a muslima and/or a person of color in her house. Nice!

  2. Wow Sabrina!!! Congratulations! This is soooooo cool! I can’t believe you got to go to the ranch.

I hope all is well with you and the Boss. ;)

    Ditto Zpurpleify!

When you posted the ‘country road’ photo the other day I thought to myself, “That looks like Ree’s road.” For some reason I never put that together with the ‘Oklahoma sunrise’ photo…duh. LOL

I’m the kind who notices details, sorry, but in the first pics, you don’t wear make-up, right? Well, what I can say is masha’Allah! You’re a natural beauty, seriously!!! Make-up adds a little bit more of beauty, but the base is already gorgeous :D

(I thought you were sending messages… hehe)
