I wasn’t allowed to wear hoop earrings until I was in middle school because my mom thought they were too grown-up-looking for little girls. When I got my first pair of hoop earrings in 7th grade, I was so absolutely in love with them, I must have worn them for two years straight. I got these from Target more recently because I realized that amid all the sparkle, shine and dangle on my jewelry stands, I had, somewhere along the way, forgotten about the beautiful simplicity of basic gold hoops. They’re sexy, yet subtle and they can wake-up a tired face, or simple a outfit in an instant.
