And as some one who is a humanitarian/development practitioner by profession who has worked for the &quot;big guys&quot; for years, a massive crisis like this is obviously a logistical nightmares. Things can happen and no group is perfect. While all those groups have good intentions and i think most of them have established networks and links in Haiti (some might not), generally i would suggests supporting deeper rooted community oriented orgs, which will give your donation a better chance of directly reaching the people 100%, instead of going towards admin costs, or getting lost in mismanagement (or fraud) as happened during Katrina with the Red Cross.  And actually, this list is pretty good in terms of alternatives to the biggies.  nice work!</description>
