From chapter 19 of the Qur’an, titled “Maryam” (Mary, mother of Jesus) versus 16-36:
And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east. And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel [Gabriel] and he presented himself to her [in the form of a man]. She said, “Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you [are God fearing.] ” He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy.” She said, “How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?” He said, “Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.’ ” So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place. And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, “Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten.” But [Gabriel] called [to her] “Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream. And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, ‘Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.’ ” Then she brought [Jesus] to her people, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented. Oh sister of Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste.” So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?” [Jesus] said, “Indeed, I am the servant of God. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and [to give in charity] as long as I remain alive. And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me, the day I was born, the day I will die, and the day I am resurrected.” That is Jesus, the son of Mary – the word of truth about which they are in dispute. It is not [befitting] for God to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, “Be,” and it is. [Jesus said], “And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”
BAM. Told you we believe in Jesus.
Merry ‘Muslims Love Jesus’ Ya’ll!

Loved the post =)
hahaha. i love you!
=D
JESUS LOVES YOU!!! lol
Haha this was great!
So much depends on how we define ‘believing in Jesus’. For the one who believes that Jesus is much more than just a prophet, that he actually did die on the cross before coming back to life and being taken up to heaven, and that this death was to serve the purpose of redeeming humanity from sin (the point being they cannot redeem themselves, that only God is the Savior), the above account, shall we say, diverges significantly from that. And the problem is all the more serious that for such a person, faith is the means by which redemption is appropriated to the individual. It is not without consequence, in other words, what the content of that faith is.
I think Sabrina means what the Qur’an and Islam says about Jesus since she’s a Muslim. I don’t think she’s talking about what Christians feel. So if you’re Christian, you should not take offense to this post. Maybe Carobska is Christian so she is sharing her belief in making Jesus to a higher place. Something that Muslims believe is forbidden. Read the whole surah. God will ask Jesus, did you tell your people to worship you? and Jesus will reply, Glory be to you. Because Jesus never said such a thing.
mash’Allah . nice post
One of the coolest post ever!
Loved this post, Sabrina! It’s refreshing to have a little bit of faith thrown into the mix
And it reminded me I need to read the Quran more regularly, so jazak!
It would be soooo cool if the woman with the ‘Jingle for Jesus’ pin reads this. You know, the one who saw a man grew his foot AND his leg.
“BAM. Told you we believe in Jesus.”
This was the line I was responding to
To caraboska, that is how Muslims believe in Jesus, based on what the above post says. The post is an example that Muslims believe in Jesus too, almost exactly the way Christians do. This post is proof that the Quran holds Jesus to a very high estemm, but not at a level that is equal to God. Many people do not believe that Muslims believe in Jesus, and this post shows otherwise. I feel that I am understanding this post correctly. “BAM. Told you we believe in Jesus” is to show other religions who doubt Muslims belief in Jesus that we do. I hope I am clear in my explanation, and if I’m not maybe Sabrina will also comment.
