City Water

My family didn’t believe me when I told them the water in L.A. comes out of the tap a shade of light brown, then fades to yellow, then eventually runs a few shades darker than clear. So I thought I’d take a picture. THIS is why we have to use a filter, FAMILY!

This is in no way a promo for Brita because if you recall, I’m still very unhappy with the design on this thing, but it does a good job filtering, so I guess you have to give credit where credit is due. If you live in a major city, I would highly recommend getting a filter from whatever company you trust. Look at the difference in color from the water going in, and the water being filtered! I don’t even want to know what’s in there that gives it that dull yellow color. Reminds me of the baby pool at the community center when I was a kid — and we all knew what was in there. Shudder.

That is so disgusting. I’m happy to say that Canada (or at least the Greater Toronto Area) does a great job with providing clean water. It’s already pre-filtered! We still have another filter-er, but it still is good on its own :)

And I thought the cloudy water here in NYC was bad, Your water reminds me of the water in Dominica though, after heavy rains, the water would be yellow/brown because of the mud. gross

I’ve lived all around the world and all around the States and trust me, NYC has the BEST water I’ve ever tasted in all the world. Seriously. I think people there only use bottled water to be snobby…lol!

“Man in the early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is regressive back to ancient times” - Nobel laureate, Tawakul Karman, in response to journalists who said her hijab was not proportionate with her level of intellect and education.
