Hallmark Doesn’t Always Say it Best. Sometimes I Do.

I love cards.
I love sending them, and I love when people send them to me.
A good old fashion card, with a hand-written note, in a world of e-mails, text messages, online groups, and twitter always warms my heart.
If you recall, The Boss moved to L.A. first. We spent exactly 91 days apart, and I felt every single one of those days. He planned a spontaneous trip home for Memorial Day, so of course, I got him a card. The boy and girl toothbrushes sharing a cup made me smile, but there was a problem.
This was a birthday card, and it was not The Boss’s birthday.
But like the woman who birthed a 9 lb, 4 oz baby always says, every problem has a solution. And luckily, every pencil cup in our (former) place, from the kitchen to my (former) home office, was armed with white-out pen for times like these.
With a few touch ups, and some font-mimicking…
Voila! A totally awesome card, for a totally awesome dude, who I hope never to spend 91 days apart from, again.
