mascara

I’m not the mascara-wearing type (I stick to my favorite eyeliner) but I’m a strong believer that every girl should have a dependable mascara on hand that she can rely on in time of need.

Over the course of my life, I’ve pretty much tried every mascara on the market. From the stuff that costs $5.99 to the stuff that costs $55.99, and I have never found a product that I really like.

Until now.

In my search for the perfect Just-in-Case mascara, I was browsing the drug store collections, when I saw this L’Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Plumping Mascara in “blackest.” I decided to give it a whirl (mostly because drug stores have gotten really good with their cosmetics return policy so I thought, why not?) and I can honestly say, I really do like it.

This mascara retails for about $8, and I don’t remember if they had a waterproof version, but I opted for the regular stuff since waterproof makeup often takes too long to remove. Plus, since I’m made of stone cold ice, I felt okay taking the risk. Although I will say that I won’t be wearing this come Sept. 15, when the new season of “The Biggest Loser” starts.

That show gets me everytime.

“Man in the early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is regressive back to ancient times” - Nobel laureate, Tawakul Karman, in response to journalists who said her hijab was not proportionate with her level of intellect and education.
