I was calling to see what the status of my application was, and I was hoping we could set up a time for an interview sometime this week. If you could give me a call at my new local number it’s…”

No! You don’t even have an answering machine set up. What if she calls and then you won’t even know. Don’t confuse her. She has your cell phone number, just stick with that.

    Bahhhahaha..
This is why I LOVE you.

I could hear your giggles in my head after the 1:02 part, which in turn made me giggle (out loud…at my desk..at work..)

Seriously, I wish you the best of luck.

HAHAHA! The perils of leaving a message on the answering machine. At least it lets you rerecord, I’ve left many a lame message.

    Good luck!

You’re my voicemail-impaired soulmate. You have no idea how reliant I am on the # function. I pretty much start recording a message already knowing I’m going to re-record it. At a minimum I press “2″ no matter what to replay and hear myself.
I’m the queen of tripping over my tongue, abusing the “ummm”s, unbelievably pointless run-on messages, and using these vocal expressions & tones that I have never, and will never, use in real life.

    LOL!!!!!!
Ok, you need to write it down if you can’t get it out right on the phone.
or maybe not. I’ve done that before, and when i listened to the message i said everything so fast, and i could hear myself take a deep breath as i was flipping the paper (which i could hear too).

So glad to know i’m not the only one that fumbles over words on the phone! Lol…

  14. Dedra on August 9th, 2009 1:28 pm

lol omg that was priceless… but what if she was at her desk the whole time listening to you redo your message 400 times??? lol grand… insha’allah she’ll call you with great news.

i can so relate to this article. so often ive written in advance what message i want to leave only to confuse myself and the person receiving the message even more. once someone rang back to say they didnt understand the message!!!!! embarrassing
