Let the Sharing Begin!

I wrote a post earlier this week, taking my readers on a tour of my office space.
Just yesterday, one of my avid readers, who is so totally enamored by me, she has vowed to become a life-long follower of this site one of my roommates from college, who is basically bound by the Laws of Freindship to read this blog, took a few pictures of her cube, numbered the gizmos in her space, and then sent me these snapshots.
Because this idea of sharing inspired me, I thought we should make this a public affair.
I’m asking all of you to get a little creative, and take a picture of where you work (unless it’s like so high-security, you could end up in Guantanamo for whipping your camera phone out of your shoe,) and share a photo of your workspace. Number all the fun/weird/kooky/sentimental/inspirational things you keep around you, and send your e-mails (with no more than three photos) to Sabrina@SliceofLemon.com.
We’ll keep our Public Office Affair going for the next few days.
Lesley’s Office Space (New York)
Under the desk
1. A rubber fish that was given to me by my manager for Christmas, because whenever we go to Whole Foods for lunch, we pass by the fish counter, and I always say, “Wouldn’t it be funny if I just picked up that fish and slapped you across the face with it?” y
Yea we have a good relationship.
2. Work Calendar
3. I stamp projects all day, no one can have a job without a stamp. I am really close to the stamp. Do NOT take it off my desk.
4. A bowl from Target that I use for Lucky Charms in the morning, and soup at lunch.
5. Timeline binder, although called ‘archaic’ by the big boss, it’s more easily accessible to have then looking on the work server through many, many folders to access the electronic version.
6. The notebook. Don’t go any where without it.
7. iPod Touch. The best invention, even better then the wheel, even though I only use it in places that have wheels. (My car, train, subway)
8. Nail file in my pen holder, very important before using #10.
9. Coffee cup, always full.
10. Clear nail polish. My office seems to be oddly obsessed with nail polish. This comes in handy when a manicure can’t be gotten at lunch time.
11. Post-its folded into flowers. On my iGoogle I have daily How-To’s that pop up, and this one showed me how to use office supplies as decoration. Makes my space pretty.
12. The computer of an odd character. I sit opposite the editor’s. Yes they are weird. This guy, Dermot, edits out loud. Probably the most annoying thing ever.
13. Post-it with work information, it’s how I keep my head on straight.
14. Chap Stick – The blue tube
15. Post-it with train times, so I know when I have to run the hell out of the office and head back to Long Island.
16. Tissues, cover your mouth please!
17. Empty bottle of Boylans Grape Soda that I now use as a vase.
18. Candy Canes
19. Personal Calendar, yes your visit will be on there once March rolls around.
20. Lotion, 2 kinds. Aloe Vera from the nail salon, smells like a fresh manicure, and Enchanted Orchid from Bath and Body Works.. yum
21. Rubber band ball
22. Correction tape.. yes even the perfect make mistakes
23. My space heater
24. I route projects through the entire agency, these are job bags that need to be moved on, if only I would get up.
25. My foot rest, it’s a storage bin turned over, plastic so it won’t break.
26. File cabinet, used for condiment packets and purse storage.
27. My favorite sneakers, because I do not commute in heals or little flats in the winter. (A pair of brown and black flats are also stored in my file cabinet.)
That’s my work space! It makes due.

omg i have a post-it note on my computer in the exact same spot with train/bus times on it too….wow.
I will send a couple of pics at some point next week!
Although my minimalist approach may result in not as many numbers – but what the hey!
