Getting Over Jane

FLAWLESS

powder

I used to use this translucent face powder by Jane for years (through high school and college), but after it ran out, I couldn’t find it anywhere. It literally disappeared off the shelves at like every drug store in America.

When it comes to hair and make-up products, I don’t like change, so when Jane fell out of my life, I didn’t use loose powder for a very long time — and those were some unusually dark days for me.

But the other day, I realized it was time for me to move on from the heart break that my love affair with Jane had caused, and I decided to buy this translucent face powder by Sally Hansen.
(It comes in a few different shades, but I linked to the one that I have.)

Most of us are familiar with Sally Hansen products because of their nail-care line, but their face powder is great, too. Loose powders usually come with a sponge/puff, but I prefer a makeup brush.
This stuff retails for about $12, but loose powder lasts for like five years, so it’s worth it.

Make-up artists say that after you apply your (non-greasy) face cream (with at least SPF-15 in it) you should apply a dab of foundation to partially damp skin, and then dust loose powder over your face for a natural look.
Pressed powders usually look more cakey, which I think is fine if you have somewhere special to go for which you need Cake Face.

I use this for times like that.

I do still miss Jane, and according to their Web site, their products are sold 1.5 miles away from where I live.
But for now, I’m happy developing a relationship with Sally.

Maybe in about five years, Jane and I can touch base face, again.

Thanks for the tip about your relationship with Sally. I hate when a product I like is gone forever and you’re left in a pit of despair wondering what it is you did wrong.

    Or…maybe that’s just me!

UGH! I know how you feel. That’s how I exactly felt when Lord & Berry closed their stores in here (Kuwait) I was SO furious! Lots of my favorites products in the line were discountinued. I buy them from Amazon but still 1/2 of the colors are discontinued :-/

I’m on my quest of finding the perfect loose powder! Unfortunately, I still haven’t found it yet.. I just can’t stop buying make-up it’s crazy.

What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is regressive back to ancient times” - Nobel laureate, Tawakul Karman, in response to journalists who said her hijab was not proportionate with her level of intellect and education.
